Charlie De Salvo with residents of 'The Zone'
The Zone is a section of Seacouver deemed too lawless and corrupt to bother policing. Tough community activist and martial arts aficionado Charlie DeSalvo works to assist the residents. The Zone becam the target of the criminal Canaan who started using the section for his crminals intents. He was finally stopped by Duncan MacLeod.[1]

The status of the Zone and its residents after the mortal gang leader Canaan was removed from power by Duncan MacLeod is not made clear. It is possible that, due to the implausibility of such an area existing in a North American city for any length of time, the concept was dismissed after the introductory episode.
