Synopsis[]

MacLeod, Tessa and Richie settle back into the antique shop in the United States. Following a clue written by Darius on the Fifth Chronicle, MacLeod finds Horton's bookshop and meets Joe Dawson, Horton's daughter, Lynn Horton (Kehli O'Byrne), and her fiancé, Robert Tucker.

Dawson explains the Watchers to MacLeod, assuring him they are observers not killers. MacLeod then follows Dawson to find Horton. When Robert Tucker considers leaving the Hunters because MacLeod spared his life, Horton kills Robert.

Accompanied by Dawson and Lynn, MacLeod confronts Horton, who admits to killing Darius and Robert. Horton shoots MacLeod dead, but MacLeod is able to stab him. When MacLeod revives, Joe, Horton and Lynn have disappeared.

Story Notes[]

Continuity[]

Joe Dawson appears clueless of the rule regarding Holy Ground, believing that Darius was killed by an immortal. In a later episode, Little Tin God, Dawson relates a story of immortals battling it out in AD 79 in Pompeii, implying that the Watchers did know of the rule regarding Holy Ground.

When the Watcher bookshop was compromised by MacLeod's knowledge of it,  the Immortal returns to find all signs of Watchers including the Chronicles and computer files have gone.  Similar to the way Adam Pierson/Methos disappears in the episode Methos (episode) once he assumes his cover is blown.  This is Standard Operating Procedure for the Watchers Society.

Horton is later killed by MacLeod in episode 2-22 May 23, 1994 Counterfeit: Part Two
