Dubakova was considered one of the finest police detectives on the Seattle Police Department. She was the oldest of six siblings. Her family that emigrated to Washington state in 1980. Possessing wealthy relatives already in-country, she had no problem with the best tutoring and best schooling.
Disciplined, she found the Police Academy as much a fun challenge for her as it was a way to prove to her family that she was absolutely worthy of the Dubakov family.
After a routine inquiry with Immortal Willem Caelius regarding his whereabouts during a paticular murder (of another Immortal, Jerome Tracy, in which Malej Senna Cavaco was the prime suspect) they would remain in contact even after duty required it. They have remained in a relationship for two years.
Watcher Notes: it is uncertain -- though highly likely -- that she knows Willem's true Immortal nature. There is a great precedent for Immortals dating mortals, but in Sylvia's case, with her detective background, there is a Kalas-level threat blowing the lid off the Immortal Game if things deteriorate between her and Willem. She bears continuous observance, particularly given Majel's status and friendship with Willem.
