Robert Gould was an American Immortal. After the first death of Andrew Cord in 1863 during the American Civil War, Gould became his mentor and taught about his Immortality.
Historical note: Robert Gould Shaw was the name of the commander of the actual 54th Regiment of Massachusetts Volunteers with whom Cord is said to have fought.
