Plot[]

While photographing old petroglyphs in the mountains, Tessa is abducted by mountain men led by Immortal Caleb Cole, who wants to marry her. Duncan follows her into the mountains when she doesn't come back. The sheriff and deputy tell him that no one has been able to find Caleb Cole for a long time. [The teaser shows Cole and his group murdering two deputies who tried to arrest Cole for poaching]

The third man of the group, Eddie Doyle, tries to rape Tessa, but Caleb's son, Joshua Cole, stops him and warns him off. MacLeod pursues the group. He sneaks up on Joshua and is about to subdue him, but Eddie corners him and is about to shoot Duncan, when Duncan throws himself over a cliff to escape.

They bring MacLeod's sword back to their camp and Cole realizes MacLeod is Immortal when he sees it, and wants to move out as fast as he can. Meanwhile, MacLeod revives and snaps his bones back into place before setting off. He recalls meeting Carl, an immortal hermit who taught him to track and survive in this area.

Tessa instigates infighting among the kidnappers, buying MacLeod time to find her. She plays on Caleb's paranoia, suggesting that maybe Eddie killed Joshua because Joshua wanted her for himself. Caleb initially refuses to believe it, but then shoots Eddie.

MacLeod shows himself and Caleb tries taunting him, saying he slept with Tessa. Naturally, Duncan doesn't believe it and Tessa affirms he's lying. He can't get to his katana, because Caleb grabs it before he can. Tessa smacks Caleb with a piece of wood when Caleb gets Duncan on his back. She gets Caleb's battle axe to Duncan and he fights with it, taking Caleb's head. Tessa witnesses a beheading and quickening for the first and only time. Caleb is buried in the mountains, his ax stuck in his grave. The Sheriff finds the remains of his two murdered officers and the last survivor Joshua Cole is arrested on kidnapping and murder charges
