Marshall Bowen was a Watcher who had the cover of a hotel owner in San Francisco. He was also a Watcher. During his life he observed four Immortals, Duncan MacLeod, Elijah Denton, Catherine Becket and Kit O'Brady.
In 1888, he boarded the steamship, Bearing Strait, en route to Alaska, where his subject, Kit O'Brady was intent on trying his luck. The ship went down with all hands on October 25th. Bowen was scheduled to retire upon his return, instead, the chapel bells were rung in memory of his 35 years dedicated service.
