A doctor working in Romanian asylum for the criminally insane, he was approached by three men who paid him $25,000 US to release inmate Evan Caspari into their care. When he asked what they wanted him for they said they were going to rehabilitate him.
Cernavoda laughed and remarked that there were better candidates, that no one knew how many people Caspari had killed. His opinion was that Caspari would be better off dead.
He accepted the bribe and led them to Caspian's cell. At the last minute, he thought better of releasing the madman and said he would get security. Unchained, Caspian, strangled the doctor to death.
