Synopsis[]

Duncan, still under the influence of the Dark Quickening, arrives in France and starts sowing havoc.

In a flashback to 1917 France, Duncan is an ambulance driver and his Immortal friend, Sean Burns, psychoanalyzes the battle fatigue victims discussing his calling with MacLeod.

Meanwhile, both Methos and Sean Burns try to get through to Duncan. Methos despairs that he might have to kill his friend if he cannot reach him, but with Burns' unexpected influence, he has someone that just might break through.
