A resident of The Zone, she was "somebody who didn't give up," according to Charlie DeSalvo. She ran the neighborhood clinic, "this lady makes a difference down here."

She told Charlie and MacLeod to stay away from the Zone and not get involved, but was eventually talked into lending her clinic as the meeting place for those opposed to Canaan's criminal rule of the Zone. But she set MacLeod up for a confrontation with Canaan, and knocked him out with a baseball bat, because Canaan had already bought her by paying for the clinic. When he killed her young friend Tio, however, she attacked him, and was locked in a freezer with MacLeod.

After their escape, MacLeod simply said of her, "...everybody makes mistakes."
