Arthur Friendman was once a history teacher, but all that changed when he took a troubled young foster kid under his wing. The disturbed teen revealed to Friedman an ability to cut himself, and heal almost instantly. The boy was an Immortal.
Friedman and the boy quickly learned what that meant when the boy was attacked by an unidentified Immortal, only to be rescued by Carl Robinson. Robinson took on the boy as a student, and Friendman was soon after recuited into the Watchers.
His knowledge of history, and administrative skills, have made him an essential component of the Southwest American operations of the Watchers.
