If Jacob Kell is Connor's clansman, then he's also from the clan of MacLeod. Why then is his name Kell and not MacLeod?

Question of canoncy they powers shown and attributed to Jacob Kell in the trailers for Highlander Endgame were scenes cut out of the Movie. My question is does that mean they aren't canon or is his ch

We see some really awesome abilities and powers displayed by Jacob Kell in the trailers for Highlander Endgame but those scenes were cut out of the movie.So does that mean they arent canon to his character or are they still attributed to him in the watcher chronnicles?
